The 7 roomed house on 12 acres of land, 'Narrena' (later called 'Sorrett' and then 'Kinnoull'), situated in Malvern, Victoria, was purchased by Charles in 1866. Built for Charles in 1886, the 11 roomed, Italianate Style home with stables and coach house, 'Cawood' (now called 'Waiora') after the New Norfolk, Tasmania Marzetti home, on 3 acres on the west side of Glenferrie Road, Malvern, Victoria and still stands today. Cawood, Torresdale Road, Toorak, built c1890, was the 2nd residence built for Charles.  According to his youngest daughter, Ethel Umphelby, it was a replica of the first Cawood on Gleferrie Road, Malvern.  His wife, Lydia resided there until her death in 1932.  The home no longer stands.
